Lions, Tigers and Bears--OH MY!!

The circus was a HUGE hit.

It was really good. It was just under three hours long. There were 27 acts and it kept us entertained the whole time. I haven't been to a circus in over 20 years, so it was like seeing one for the first time.

Makiah liked just about everything. Samuel liked anything with animals, fire or juggling. I think the Grizzly Bear riding a bicycle was just amazing. Moment of truth--I didn't think that bears could do that, except for cartoons ya know. Shows me how little I know about circus bears!

Here are a few choice quotes from the day.

"Can I pwease go pet the tigers."~~Sam

"Why would that man go into that cage with tigers and make his wife go too??"~~Makiah (Even she knows we don't go into cages with tigers and we don't make our loved ones go too.)

"Whoa, he's juggle sticks with fire, with fire mama, look, with fire"~~Sam

Makiah was amazed at the acrobats and all the different acts of people flying through the air. She had a really good time and is already planning our trip to the circus next year.

Short of me having one or six heart attacks over some the acts, it was a great day. A great way to cap off the holiday weekend.

Sounds like so much fun. The only circus we've ever gone to was really sad.

So with the nativity theme for your home school activity you probably already have the craft but the idea I had when you first mentioned it was, 2x2 blocks of wood cut into 2", 4" and 6" heights. Squares of fabric are folded, wrapped around the top af the 4" and 6" block then tied on with a ribbon, jute etc.leaving a space for a face, like the head coverings seen on the holy family. Next white fabric, wrapped swaddling style around the 2" block of wood leaving a space for a face for baby Jesus. Faces can be drawn on each block with markers or colored pencils. Voile' Holy family.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get this written up. Good luck with all your holiday preparations.
