Fall Fun

Yesterday, late afternoon, I took the kids outside to play in the very small amount of leaves in front of our apartment building. The sun was actually setting, at 4:45 (I hate day-light savings time) and so we had to hurry.

I remember being a kid and looking forward to raking the leaves so I could jump in them. Course once I was done jumping in them, I abandoned the rake for the house and Dad was left to finish the raking.

Makiah and Sam would make a small pile and them pick up the pile, throwing it into the air. Then they would jump and run through it. Such simple pleasure, but they were happy.

I think Sam was looking for a pretty leaf for a project we are doing later today.

Leaves are raining down.

"Which one, which one??"

"I love the leaves"

Makiah and Sam with Daniel the drooler.

So later today we will be using our collected leaves for a fall art project. Daniel was only outside for a few minutes then I returned him to the house because the leaves they threw on him, he would get and try to eat. I'm not a fan of my baby eating leaves, so back to the house he went.

Ok, I have to say that I love your fall theme on the blog - it's so cool!

Isn't it amazing how much fun kids can have with simple leaves? Yours look like they were having a ball.

How cute are they!!?!! I love the pictures. "Drooling Daniel" totally reminds me of Colin at that age. I don't think I have a single picture of him from 2 months until about 14 months where the front of his shirt isn't soaking wet!!!

And I'm with you...I'm not a fan of this time change either.

If you would like some more leaves, I have a few million that you can have. The only condition is that you have to come here to collect them. I will be going out again tonight to attempt to free my yard from the leaf monster that is engulfing it.

Love, love, love autumn. Did your fall project include putting leaves under paper and coloring over the leaf to create an imprint? That's one of our favorites.
