Brrrrr. . . I'm Cold!!

But not too cold to go shoe shopping with my mom in a minute. That's right, I'm braving the negative wind chill temp, the seven inches of snow and I am going shoe shopping. We didn't have Sunday School this morning due to the weather and neither did my mom. No sense in sitting around, got things to do!! We do have church this afternoon and I'm happy about that, I hate it when we miss a service, I just feel incomplete.

I hope all my bloggity friends have a warm and blessed Sunday. I have been singing this song for two weeks! I hope you enjoy it too!!

Sickies, Funnies and Victories--OH MY!!

The illness that plagues us won't seem to go, it just lingers and lingers. Due to fevers, coughing and snottiness that can't be contained, I kept the kids home today. Public safety, I am all over it. Hopefully, Monday will bring broken fevers!

So for your Sunday viewing pleasure I leave with you a couple of excellent videos.

Have a blessed Sunday!!

Fear. . . Not

I was running errands the other day thinking of different situations in my life currently. As I was discussing this in my mind, I thought this statement; "I am just fearful. . . . ". Honestly at this point, right now, I don't even know what the rest of the sentence was and it doesn't really matter what it is, because God spoke to me in that moment, correcting me.

Earlier in the week, before the mind conversation, I happened upon a scripture in Isaiah 43:1-5,11 and it really stuck out to me. Let me correct myself, I didn't happen upon it, God knew of my future car conversation and knew I needed to read it! Here it is:

1. But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

3. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

4. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

5. Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

11. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

I thought about past experiences and how God was always there through it. He didn't take it away or make my "waters" or "fire" disappear but he always brought me through EVERY SITUATION. Not only did he bring me through, I came out stronger and wiser because of it. So while driving and thinking about being fearful, I stopped mid-thought and got corrected by God. This scripture passage came back to my memory and God began dealing with me about why I was fearful. I recited the scripture again and the more I did the more I realized that I don't have to be fearful. God has never given me a reason to be fearful, ever. I have always known and given honor to God for bringing me through, but I also have a tendency to be a worrier. God is working that out of me. I mean OUT. OF. ME. I'm obviously a slow learner. ~Smile~

God was speaking to His people in this passage. I am His people, I am His daughter, His child, I am His--I'm good with that!

So why do we fear, when we are in God and He is in us?? When we abide in Him, He keeps us, saves us, protects us. Key here, is abide in Him. Humans typically fear when we feel out of control, but having a relationship with God means not controlling, it means releasing and letting God. Fear isn't an option. Perfect love (which is God) casts out fear. There is no room for fear where God abides.

Are you fearful? What do you fear? That sentence I started above, "I am just so fearful. . . ", you can fill it in with whatever your fears are. Whatever you fear God is bigger, greater. . . Saviour.

My new prayer in life is to live everyday resting in the very capable hands of God and FEAR NOT!

Hopefully my ramblings made some sense to you and I pray you all have a blessed Sunday!

Sunday Funnies

Blessed Sunday to you all!! I am looking forward to tonight. Hubs and I are visiting my parents church because my great uncle is preaching there! It will be lovely to see them!! I am also excited for what God has in store for us tonight. You know going to church with an open mind and a heart that is willing to receive from God, will always go home having been fed!

I am so thankful for my freedoms. My natural freedom from living in a free country, but I am also thankful for the freedom I have found in Christ! There is nothing like having God in my life, nothing can deliver you like He can--true freedom!!

Mandisa--Freedom Song

I have to also leave a funny for you because, well, laughter doeth good like a medicine. Who doesn't want to be healthy?? This video is Anita Renfroe and this has totally been me all week!!

I hope your Sunday is blessed. Full of God's presence and joyous laughter!!

Sunday Funnies and Some Music Too

I am actually writing a post in advance!! Miracles are still happening! Sunday's are always super busy so I thought I'd leave with something funny and something to think about. The Bible says that "laughter doeth good like a medicine" and Time Hawkins will tickle your funny bone. Also, Voice of a Savior by Mandisa will leave you thinking about hearing God in your life.

John 15:1-11
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Jesus spoke this exhort the people to stay close to him, with the end result of have a joy-filled life! How amazing is our God!!! He also spoke of what would happen if they chose not to abide in him. I want and desire to stay close to my God, my Savior. My desire is that He will continue to speak into my life! The fringe benefit of abiding in Him isn't just peace, love and eternal life (which would be more than I deserve), but I also get to live a joy-FILLED life! Not a heartache free or pain free life, but a life where He fills me up with joy!!

Have a joyous Sunday!!
